Inspiration: Cossacks in the Ukraine region date as far back as the 14th century and were made up of East Slavs and other migrating ethnic groups, like Khazars and Turks. Cossack means “a free man” or “adventurer”. They were fierce and independent people who’s society was a federation of independent communities, often merging into larger units of warrior character, entirely separate from, and free from other nations. However Cossacks are considered to be responsible for nation-forming processes leading to the establishment of modern Ukraine. They are also known for their unique headwear called a papaha, which is a high fur hat, usually made of karakul sheep skin.
